Blitzen Trapper have announced an extensive European tour covering Belgium, Netherlands, UK, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Denmark in April 2018.
The Portland, Oregon-based rock quintet are heading across the atlantic in support of their newly released album Wild and Reckless. Described by frontman Eric Earley as a “something like a cross-eyed stepchild to Furr“, referring to their break-through Subpop release. The new album was born from a stage production that the band spent the better part of a year producing. The half musical, half rock-opera dealt with heroin abuse, desperation, true love and western power structures. Early continues, “Ten years after Furr with all its talk of murder and the end of the western world, it seems there’s more to tell.”
Wild and Reckless is out now on Lojinx CD, LP and Digital.

They Might Be Giants has announced the release of I Like Fun, a remarkable 15-track album, available physically and digitally on 19th January 2018. I Like Fun jumps with surprises, vitality, and the startling point of view of these Brooklyn originals. Songwriters and band founders John Linnell and John Flansburgh draw on themes of dread, death, and disappointment and set them to their driving, hyper-melodic music. Fresh and sonically adventurous, the band’s command of the studio and the song is in rare form from beginning to end. Featured by The New Yorker, album closer “Last Wave” is a deceivingly upbeat track that leaves you with a pit in your stomach by, as Linnell points out, “reminding you of your darkest fears.” “Last Wave” is available to post/share here: Youtube | Spotify | Apple Music.
